This movie reminds me of Chien, with whom I had a discussion on a road trip once about how all guys at least on some level want to be totally free and unencumbered by familial or societal obligations so they can run around being solitary badasses. In that same discussion he espoused at great length on the merits of witnessing professionalism, particularly as it pertained to Michael Mann's Heat, which -- surprise surprise! -- also stars Val Kilmer.

Wikipedia confirms Val to be Val Kilmer's actual birth name. We both got three letters. My first kid's name will be Abc.
